Below the Line is an independent sitcom pilot that Chris Clark, Weston Critchfield and I wrote, created, funded, and produced. It’s about a tow truck driver who unexpectedly finds himself on the kooky set of a television show, Sugar and Spies. The idea was to make a show about the “behind the scenes of the behind the scenes.”
It was a monumental effort, and probably the largest project that I’ve ever managed, with over fifty people involved, numerous locations, releases and personnel logistics, as well as financial concerns. That said, I’d love to take another crack at it, because there are certain things about the final product that I think could do with some tweaking. But I chalk this piece up to experience. You never learn anything unless you try. And sometimes, when you try, things don’t quite work out the way that you expected.
The video above is simply the promo – I’ll get the full version up eventually.
